| Quadron’s
Isle of Wight team worked on a contract with English Heritage
at Osborne House, the seaside home of Queen Victoria.
In the grounds of Osborne House is Swiss Cottage,
which was given to the children on Queen Victoria’s birthday
in 1854. Swiss Cottage is a wooden chalet where the royal children
could enjoy the quieter life away from royal demands. Each royal
prince and princess had their own garden to tend and their own set
of tools and a wheelbarrow each marked with their own initials.
Quadron restored the Royal Tool Store that
was re-thatched and the timber repaired and restored.
Replicas
of the nine wheelbarrows and five garden carts have been made and
were painted so they will exactly match the originals.
The items are on public display in the royal Tool Store. |
